field. The boy hit the bird with his gun. The farmer claimed it. The boy began to play on his magic violin. The farmer dance and dance while the boy played. The farmer requested him to stop. The farmer said he would give him a thousand silver coins.
ਮੁੰਡਾ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਗੇਟ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਛੀ ਉੱਡ ਗਿਆ। ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੰਦੂਕ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ। ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੁੰਡਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਦੂਈ ਵਾਇਲਨ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੱਚਦਾ-ਨੱਚਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਰੁਕਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
Q. 7. Why did the magistrate punish him? What was his punishment?
Ans. The farmer informed the police that boy had stolen his one thousand silver coins. The magistrate sentenced the boy to be hanged at once.
ਕਿਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ। ਮੈਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਟ ਨੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਫਾਂਸੀ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਸੁਣਾਈ।
Q. 8. How did the boy get the silver coins and his freedom back?
Ans. The magistrate granted the boy’s last wish to play on the violin. When the boy played
the violin, everybody started dancing. All were exhausted. The boy demanded that he
would stop playing the violin only if would be given his money and freedom.The magistrate and others accepted the condition.
